PGA Professional Sophie Hunter Joins the Boston West Team

Boston West is pleased to working alongside PGA professional Sophie Hunter.

Sophie joined the professional ranks in 2000 and moved to the Algarve. During home leave she won the Pleasington and a British Open Qualifier at the Berkshire. The next two years of serious work in the gym and intensive coaching by Stuart Woodman resulted in her winning her first Tour Card for the 2003 LET season at Grenoble.

Sophie quickly became one of the higher ranked UK golfers on the Ladies European Tour and figured in the first Rolex World Rankings. During the next few years, she competed in the Open Championships of every country in Europe, on the Nedbank Tour in South Africa and other events in Mauritius and the USA. Between events she based herself in The Algarve, working at Vale do Lobo and later representing Quinta do Largo on tour.

One of very few professionals to study for and pass the PGA exams whilst on Tour, she returned to the UK after the 2008 season to make use of her coaching skills and become Head Professional at Boston West Golf Centre where she opened her Golf Academy. Sophie now competes in Lincolnshire County PGA Pro-Am’s and charity events.

Sophie will be available Monday to Wednesday in the pro shop for all your golfing needs. Sophie will offer advice on a range of services from re-gripping to club selection and everything in between. You can contact Sophie on 01205 290670 or alternatively, send her an email to [email protected].
